Six locks • one vault code • 12‑minute target • CSP Activities 1.1.1 + 1.1.2
Briefing
The render finished. The door did not open.
Six locks stand between you and the exit, and each one gives up a single digit. They get harder as you go.
Every wrong answer costs you 15 seconds. The vault will not open on a lucky guess —
it checks that you actually earned all six digits.
Everything here comes from the two activities you have already done. Nothing is new.

Lock 1 • Warm-up
Type Triage
A user runs this program and types 7 at the prompt. What is sitting inside
lives right now?
# arena.py
lives = input("How many lives? ")
3
Digit 1 recovered. Hold on to it.
Lock 2 • Diagnosis
The Crash
This program stops before it draws anything. The user typed 16.
You need both answers right at the same time — what breaks, and what fixes it.
age = input("How old are you? ")
next_year = age + 1
print(next_year)
What breaks?
What fixes it?
6
Digit 2 recovered.
Lock 3 • Pattern
The Arc Decoder
Four shapes came out of the renderer. Match each one to the call that drew it.
All four must be right before the lock moves.
0
Digit 3 recovered. Halfway.
Lock 4 • Sequence
Solid or Hollow
Four statements, one correct order, and a renderer that will happily draw you an empty shape
if you get it wrong. Click them into the program in the order they must run.
One wrong placement resets the lock and costs you 15 seconds.

Lock 5 • Anatomy
Name Every Part
The renderer will not accept a command it cannot parse. Label all four pieces.
All four at once, or the lock stays shut.

Last one. Trace this program line by line. The user types 60 at the prompt.
Three answers, all required, all at once.
